Training Conducted for Estonian Military Defence College
April 7-8, 2009

Sharon Morgillo Freeman, PhD, MSN, PMHCNS-BC
Tallinn, Estonia overlook
Classroom in Tartu, Estonia
This training included 2 days of leadership skill development and
community relations/social skill building.

This workshop included 1 1/2 days of the workshop focusing on
leadership skills, mentoring, BATTLEMIND training, resiliance to stress
and post-deployment stress reduction. In addition there was 1/2 day of
assertiveness/aggression management training and goal setting training.

The prior few days (April 2-6) had been spent on a leisurely visit with Dr.
Freeman's Daughter Heather (retired Army 3rd Infantry) and Son-in-Law
Dustin (173rd Airborne) in Vincenza, Italy with a brief stopover in Venice.
It was a fun and beautiful trip ending with the 2 days of teaching. While in
Venice there was an earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy which was barely felt up
in Venice, however Dr. Freeman has friends in that area who reported
that the city had been devastated by the quake. It was very sad news
indeed. Many prayers were said for the people of Abruzzo, Italy after we
had learned of the pain and suffering that had occurred there.

Both Italy and Tallinn are beautiful! Everyone was welcoming and friendly.
